The City is providing collection boxes for community members to drop off new children’s books (English or Spanish) to be donated to the migrant kids staying at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shelter at the Long Beach Convention Center. The collections will take place at City Hall (16400 Colorado Ave.) Mon. through Fri. from 8am to 5pm or the City’s Sheriff Station (15001 Paramount Blvd.) Mon. through Sun. from 8am to 9pm. The collection dates will be May 7 to May 21. Again, they must be new books, nothing used. Thank you in advance for your generosity and compassion.
