On Tuesday, January 28, Paramount Unified hosted the African American Parent Student Network, bringing together families and students from Mokler, Wirtz, Collins, Lincoln, Odyssey, Paramount High School, and more for an evening of meaningful discussions.
🔹 District leaders highlighted resources like the Expanded Learning Opportunities before & after school programs.
🔹 Students shared insights, including a veteran AP scholar’s strategies for success.
🔹 Black Student Union participants reflected on their recent conference experience.
🔹 Odyssey scholars presented plans to celebrate and raise campus awareness.
Hosted by Dr. Topekia Jones, Director of Climate, Culture, & Equity, with Superintendent Dr. Joshua Lightle and Assistant Superintendent Dr. William Nelson, the event reinforced our district’s commitment to fostering achievement and representation.
